All About Langtang Trekking

Langtang is a region in the Himalayas of Nepal to the north of the Kathmandu Valley and bordering Tibet. The Langtang Nationla Park is located in this area.

The Langtang National Park is the fourth national park in Nepal and was established in 1976 as the first Himalayan national park. The protected area exceeds an attitudinal range from 1500-7234 m providing variety of climatic zones, from subtropical to alpine and covers an area of 1,710 km2 (660 sq mi) in the Rasuwa and Sindhulpalchok districts of the central Himalayan region covering 26 Village Executives. It is linked with the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet. The high altitude sacred lake of Gosainkunda falls within the park.The Gosainkunda lake (4,300 m (14,100 ft)) and the Dorje Lakpa range (6,988 m (22,927 ft)) bisect the park from east–west to south–east. The summit of Langtang Lirung (7,245 m (23,770 ft)) is the highest point in the park.

The northern and eastern border of the national park coincide with the international border to Tibet. The western boundary follows the rivers Bhote Kosi and Trisuli. The southern border lies 32 km north of the Kathmandu Valley.

  1. Day 1 Kathmandu Arrival (1350)

    Actually, Nepal opens in the air; just before the plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. If you are, lucky enough with the bright sunshine on your arrival day the wide range of soaring Himalayan Peaks to the North is a magnificent view. As you complete the immigration formalities of the airport and make your way out from the Arrivals Terminal, we would offer you a warm Nepalese welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel in a private vehicle. At hotel, you will have a very easy check-in procedure. Let the flight exhaustion go off in the cozy hotel room. In the evening, we will offer you a welcome dinner in one of the finest cultural restaurants of the city.Airports pick up and hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast is included

  2. Day 2 Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley (1350m) and Trek preparation day

    After the breakfast, we will escort you to Pashupatinath- the largest Hindu Temple of Nepal in a private vehicle. The temple dedicated to supreme Hindu God, Shiva banks Bagmati River. At Pashupatinath you will get to see exceptionally carved statues and idols of Hindu deities, a long row of Shiva-Lings, series of small temples and the golden hood at the top of main Temple is truly fascinating. Moreover, an opportunity to witness the Hindu Death ritual at Aryaghat Pashupatinath is an offbeat cultural experience. After the exploration of Pashupatinath we will walk along the busy streets of Kathmandu to Boudhanath. A large domed shaped Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath holds huge religious significance among the Tibetan Buddhists of Nepal. A major shrine on ancient Indo-China trade route Boudhanath offered blessings to traders and scholars for safe journey through the high Himalayan passes to Tibet. Saffron robed monks circumambulating Boudhanath, colorful prayer flags touching the skyline from the dome pinnacle to the base of large monument and the and outlets selling Tibetan souvenirs makes this place a true Tibet outside Tibet. Post lunch the sightseeing tour continues to Kathmandu Durbar Square. The exemplary wooden and stone craftsmanship at the site makes a place the prominent attraction for tourists. The stone paved streets, pagoda style religious monuments inclusive different Hindu deities are the cultural delights of ancient and medieval Nepal at Kathmandu Durbar Square. Today’s final destination for sightseeing tour in Kathmandu takes you to Swayambhunath. A self emerged Buddhist stupa lies on a hilltop overlooking Kathmandu with its watchful eyes.   3. Day 3 Kathmandu to Syabrubensi (1420m)5-6 hours drive


    We take breakfast in the hotel and begin the journey towards Syabrubensi in a local bus. Syabrubenshi is the trek starting point to Langtang Valley which takes about 7-8 hours drive. Enjoy scenic drive through Trishuli Valley with rural villages, river and mountains. The bus stops for half an hour at one of highway restaurants on the way for lunch. We will reach at Syabrubeshi (1,420m) around 2 or 3 o'clock. Once we reach Syabrubeshi, we take time to explore around.   4. Day 4 Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel (2350m), 5-6 hours trek

    As we begin the trek first we cross Bhote Koshi River and chase the trail upstream along Langtang Khola. We then trek along the trail that ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m/6,068ft). On the trail we will have many opportunities to view well established villages. Then the trek climbs gently up to Rimche (2,400m) which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. Finally, we ascend up through the dense bamboo forest and arrive to From here you will Lama Hotel (23500m). En-route if the luck favors us we can see wild species like red panda, monkeys and bears.   5. Day 5 Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley (3,500m), 5-6 Hours Trek

    After breakfast, you will have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela. After reaching Lama Hotel, you will walk for another three hours on the scenic trail that takes you to Langtang village (3500m) where you will relax for the evening and explore around the village. Overnight at Langtang valley.Mountain Accommodation with Full board of meals (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included.

  6. Day 6 Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m), 3/4 hours Trek

    Today after the breakfast, you will leave beautiful Langtang Village and start your trek and you will walk three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of your trekking at an altitude of 3817m from sea level. From here you will have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. Rest of the time, you will visit surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery and local houses. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.Mountain Accommodation with Full board of meals (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included

  7. Day 7 Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and climb to Tsego Ri(4983m), 10-11 hours trek

    Today you will a whole day to explore around natural beauties of Kyanjin Gompa. In the morning ,you can climb to Tsego Ri (5150m). Then visit Langtang glacier and Langshisha Kharka (the beautiful yak pasture land) and exploring we hike back to Kyanjin Gompa and Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.Mountain Accommodation with Full board of meals (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included

  8. Day 8 Trek back from Kyanjin Gompa to Ghore Tabela(3020m), 4 hours trek

    After breakfast, we trek back to Ghore Tabela. The walking will be pleasant and scenic one and it takes nearly four hours to reach you there. Overnight at GhoreTabela.Mountain Accommodation with Full board of meals (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included

  9. Day 9 Trek back from Ghoda Tabela to Syabrubensi (1420m), 6-7 hours trek

    After breakfast, we walk down to Syabrubeshi via Lama Hotel and Bamboo through previous rhododendron forest and along with Bhote Koshi river. Evening we explore around and Overnight at Syabrubensi.Mountain Accommodation with Full board of meals (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included

  10. Day 10 Drive back to Kathmandu (1400m) from Syabrubeshi

    After breakfast we drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi by local bus. As we reach to Kathmandu, we will be taken to our hotel. Take rest and in evening you can stroll around Thamel before we enjoy farewell dinner together in Thamel's one of the best cultural restaurants. Overnight at Kathmandu.Hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast is included

  11. Day 11 Departure day from Kathmandu (1400m)

    This is your last day in Nepal. You may do shopping, buy some souvenirs for your family and friends until your departure to airport. We will transfer you to the International Airport for your flight to your onward destination. Breakfast and final airport drop is included
